World-Class Drilling Technology

Directional drilling, a technique that involves drilling at an angle so that a number of wells can be drilled from a single well pad, is another way we are working to minimize impact. Directional drilling from multi-well pads in the PAPA means we need 100 fewer pads and 70 percent fewer roads to fully develop the resource than previous regulatory stipulations allowed. This results in less potential for habitat disturbance.

The operators directionally drill multiple wells from a single well pad minimizing the number of roads and pads needed to fully develop the resource.
